No cost Medical Air Transport
The Ault Pierce, Briggsdale, Eaton, Galeton, Nunn & Pawnee Fire Protection Districts are happy to announce that we have entered into a service agreement with the Air Med Care Network to cover Medi-Evac Helicopter expenses on behalf of residents and landowners in each Fire Protection District. This agreement is limited to geography of the signatory Fire Districts and participating helicopter services (4 in the area) but may be extended beyond these districts for an additional charge with the contact below.
Given the distances of much of our population to hospitals and trauma centers and the availability of ground based Emergency Medical Services, the Helicopter is an integral part of getting those in critical need safely to the hospital where and when feasible. Helicopter Medi-Evacs can be expensive at about the price of a new vehicle and are increasingly not covered by health insurance. The Fire Districts entered into this coverage to help our residents avoid a catastrophic medical cost on top of an already challenging medical condition. The collective cost for all the Fire Districts was about that of one Medi-Evac trip. What this means is if you as individual live or own land here, you pay nothing.
