Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament

Welcome back to the Ault Pierce Fire Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament. Once a year, during the Ault Fall Festival, Ault Pierce Fire Hosts a Mud Volleyball Tournament at our Fire Station 1 in Ault. This is a fun and semi-competitive event that helps support the firefighter's training and equipment needs and allows crews to be in the community. We continually grow each year with more and more teams. This is a family-friendly event. Register here and see the rules below.

- Mud Volleyball Rules -
SERVING AND POINTS
1. Serves can be either overhand or underhand but must be served from inside the court.
2. Rally scoring. The first two games go to 21, and the third game goes to 15 if needed. Must win by at least two points. Depending on the number of teams, scoring may change for the losing brackets. Determined on the day of the games.
3. It is illegal to block a serve.
4. Serves that touch the net on the way over will remain in play.
5. The ball must be served from the right rear of the pit, near the boundary.
6. Coin toss for serve or side
7. Top teams advance to playoffs. Ties will be determined by overall win/loss record, head-to-head results, and total points scored against each team.
PLAY
1. It is illegal for players to touch the net
2. The ball can only be contacted three times by one team before sent to the opposing team’s side. No player can strike the ball more than once in succession, except for off a tipped block.
3. No catching, throwing or holding the ball.
4. The water is in bounds.
5. Players must rotate clockwise when receiving the ball to serve.
6. Substitutes may be rotated into the game at the server’s position only, unless there is an injury.
7. EVERY PARTICIPANT MUST WEAR SHOES (no cleats). Duct Tape can help keep the shoes on.
8. All contact must be made within the pit. For safety purposes, no stepping outside the pit. Players must always have one foot in the court.
9. Play will continue in the rain unless there is a threat of lightning. If games are cancelled due to weather, there will be NO REFUNDS, and the games will not carry over to another day.
10. Players will make their own call except for the championship game. (if refs are not available)
11. Maximum of six players will always be on the court. Two women on the court at all times.
12. You must only play for the team in which you signed the waiver for.
13. You can only sign on one waiver. (Only be on 1 team)
SPORTSMANSHIP
1. No throwing mud, water, sand, etc. onto the opponent’s side
2.No loading the ball with extra mud during a serve, etc.
3. No yelling at, or disrespecting, game officials (referees). The team member in violation will be disqualified and asked to leave.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. Each mud volleyball participant must sign the liability waiver prior to playing.
2. No children are allowed in the Volleyball Pits or near the training ground
3. No jewelry allowed.
4. Absolutely no drugs, including marijuana, are allowed on the property. If you are caught, you will be removed from the property.
