Position Title: PART-TIME FIREFIGHTER/EMT

Salary Range: $52,800

Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision Paid 100% for the employee, FPPA Retirement, PTO

Work Schedule: Reverse 48/96 (Shift times start at 6PM) 

Overview: The Ault Fire Protection District is proudly serving the Ault, Pierce and unincorporated Weld communities. Ault Fire Protection District is responsible for fire suppression, emergency medical services, extrication, hazardous materials, risk reduction & public safety education, wildland protection, and rescue services for an area of over 80 square miles. 

Position Summary: The position of Firefighter requires extensive training in responding to, combating, extinguishing, preventing fires and performing rescue work. The individual will be required to learn and participate in the performance of tasks in emergency situations, which may require strenuous physical exertion under adverse conditions such as heat, smoke and confined spaces. The job requires the individual to complete a basic training program, learn all streets and water supply resources in the District and operate fire/rescue apparatus under non – emergent and emergent situations. Mechanical aptitude is important in that basic preventative maintenance of fire/rescue apparatus and equipment as well as report writing.

Qualification and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the 

knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

1. Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent

2. Must pass a criminal history and driving history

3. Must successfully complete the Districts testing/selection process

4. Must have the ability to learn and apply the knowledge and skills associated with the performance of their duties

5. Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions during the performance of their duties, both daily routine assignments and under the stress of operating on scene of an emergency. The candidate shall have interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an integral member of the team. 

6. Must be physically and mentally fit to meet the demands of the position. A minimum qualification standard is unrestrictive mobility. Must be physically capable of climbing ladders, working at heights, working in confined spaces and able to lift excessive weight. Must not have any physical condition that would impair job performance. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

1. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing. 

2. Hold the following certifications from the State of Colorado: 

• Firefighter I / State of Colorado 

• Haz Mat Operations / State of Colorado 

• Emergency Medical Technician – Basic / State of Colorado 

• CPR / American Heart Association 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Required after employment

• IS 700.a NIMS, An Introduction 

• IS 100.a Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS 100 

• IS 200.a ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents 

• NIMS/TIMS Training
